هدف سرمایه‌گذاری جمعی عاطفی از جدیدترین سازه‌های حوزه سرمایه نُرم انسانی است که ظرفیت بالقوه‌ای برای ضربه‌گیری اثر رخدادهای منفی محیطی بر سلامت انسان و رفتارهایش دارد. این سازه نوین ظرفیت اجرایی‌شدن در محیط‌های گروهی را دارد. در این پژوهش، رابطه استرس شغلی با فرسودگی هیجانی، با توجه به نقش واسطه‌ای (ضربه‌گیری) سرمایه‌گذاری جمعی عاطفی با سه مؤلفه سرمایه‌گذاری جمعی بر ارتقای عاطفه مثبت در دیگران، سرمایه‌گذاری جمعی بر ارتقای احساس انرژی در دیگران و سرمایه‌گذاری جمعی بر ارتقای شادمانی در دیگران مطالعه شد.
مواد و روش ها با توجه به هدف پژوهش، ۲۰۲ نفر به پرسش‌نامه استرس شغلی، پرسش‌نامه فرسودگی هیجانی و پرسش‌نامه سرمایه‌گذاری جمعی عاطفی پاسخ دادند. 
یافته ها بین استرس شغلی با فرسودگی هیجانی رابطه مثبت و معنادار، ولی بین استرس شغلی و فرسودگی هیجانی با سرمایه‌گذاری جمعی عاطفی رابطه منفی و معنادار (‌P<۰/۰۱)‌ وجود دارد. نتایج مدل‌سازی معادله ساختاری و تحلیل واسطه‌ای (آزمون بوت استراپ) نشان داد سرمایه‌گذاری جمعی عاطفی متغیر واسطه‌ای کامل در رابطه استرس شغلی با فرسودگی هیجانی است.
نتیجه گیری درمجموع یافته‌های این پژوهش نشان داد از طریق تقویت سرمایه‌گذاری جمعی عاطفی می‌توان از اثرات منفی استرس شغلی بر سلامتی انسان و فرسودگی او در محیط کار جلوگیری کرد.
