Abstract: (26 Views)
Depression and anxiety disorders, which are very common among adolescents today, cause disorders such as rumination, reduced resilience, and poor sleep quality. The present study aimed to determine the effect of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy on rumination, resilience, and sleep quality. The present research method was quasi-experimental and a pre-test-post-test design with a control group was used to collect data. The statistical population of the research consisted of all eleventh and twelfth grade students in Meybod city, from whom 24 people were selected by convenience sampling and randomly assigned to the experimental group (12 people) and the control group (12 people). The intervention was based on the cognitive therapy method based on group mindfulness, which was held in 8 weekly sessions of 45-60 minutes. The Nolen et al. (1997) rumination questionnaire, Connor and Davidson's resilience questionnaire (2003) and Boyce et al. (1989) sleep quality questionnaire were used to collect data. The findings from statistical data analysis showed a significant difference in the post-test between the experimental and control groups in the variables of rumination, resilience and sleep quality. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that mindfulness-based cognitive therapy intervention can be effective in controlling and reducing rumination and increasing resilience and sleep quality, especially in adolescents.
