The purpose of the present study was to investigate predicting of sexual satisfaction based on early maladaptive schemas and irrational beliefs in women with marital conflict. The present research is the correlation. The statistical population was the womens who referred to counseling clinics and psychological services in Tehran city in year 2023. The sample size was selected based on Cochran formula with convenience sampling (online method) of 431 women with marital conflict. Data collection tools included the marital conflict questionnaire (MCQ) of of Barati and Sanaee (1994), sexual satisfaction questionnaire (SSQ) of Larson and et al (1998), Young schema questionnaire–short form version 3 (YSQ-S3) of Young (2005) and irrational belief questionnaire (IBQ) of Jones (1968). Data analysis was done by the Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression analysis. The results showed that there is a negative and significant correlation between early maladaptive schemas and irrational beliefs in women with marital conflict with sexual satisfaction (p<0.01). Regression analyses also revealed that 63/2 percent variance of sexual satisfaction was explained by early maladaptive schemas and irrational beliefs in women with marital conflict. It can be concluded that according to the significant role of irrational beliefs and early maladaptive schemas, it is possible to reduce the occurrence of sexual dissatisfaction in women with marital conflict by using effective interventions such as schema based couple therapy. Therefore, based on the results, it can be said that irrational beliefs and early maladaptive schemas make women with marital conflicts prone to sexual dissatisfaction and thus weaken their marital stability.
