پرخاشگری به‌عنوان یکی از چالش‌های رفتاری مهم، پیامدهای فردی و اجتماعی گسترده‌ای دارد و شناسایی عوامل مؤثر بر آن می‌تواند به پیشگیری و مداخله‌های روان‌شناختی کمک کند. هدف مطالعه حاضر تعیین نقش اضطراب و زیرمولفه‌های کفایت اجتماعی و تنظیم هیجان در پیش‌بینی پرخاشگری بود. این پژوهش با توجه به هدف از نوع بنیادی و با توجه به شیوه جمع‌آوری داده‌ها از نوع توصیفی- همبستگی بود. برای این منظور 340 نفر از دانشجویان دانشگاه تبریز به شیوه نمونه‌گیری خوشه‌ای انتخاب شدند. افراد نمونه پس از ارائه‌ی توضیحات لازم و کسب رضایت آگاهانه، به پرسشنامه اضطراب بک(1988)، کفایت اجتماعی پرندین و کرمی(1385)، پرسشنامه تنظیم هیجان جان و گراس(2003) و پرسشنامه مختصر پرخاشگری وبستر و همکاران (2014) پاسخ دادند. به منظور بررسی نقش ترکیبی این متغیرها در پیش‌بینی پرخاشگری در تحلیل دادهها از روش تحلیل رگرسیون چندگانه استفاده شد. نتایج تحلیل رگرسیون نشان داد که اضطراب و ابعاد کفایت اجتماعی و تنظیم هیجان توان قابل توجهی در پیشبینی پرخاشگری دارند و به میزان 25 درصد پرخاشگری را پیش‌بینی می‌کنند. همچنین 25 درصد از واریانس پرخاشگری به وسیله‌ی اضطراب، زیرمولفه‌های کفایت اجتماعی و زیرمولفههای تنظیم هیجان، تبیین می‌شود. جهت تعیین نقش تفکیکی هر یک از زیرمولفه‌ها و متغیرها در پیش‌بینی پرخاشگری، ضرایب استاندارد شده و غیراستاندارد رگرسیون محاسبه شد که نتایج این تحلیل نشان داد که از بین متغیرهای پیش‌بین این پژوهش، اضطراب و زیر مولفه آمایه‌های انگیزشی و انتظارات کفایت اجتماعی و زیر مولفه مهارت‌های رفتاری کفایت اجتماعی، قادر هستند بخشی از واریانس پرخاشگری را به طور معنی‌داری پیش‌بینی کنند. ابعاد تنظیم هیجان و سایر ابعاد کفایت اجتماعی نقش معنی‌داری در پیش‌بینی پرخاشگری نداشتند. در مجموع یافته‌های این پژوهش حاکی از آن بود که اضطراب و برخی از زیرمولفه‌های کفایت اجتماعی می‌توانند نقش مهمی در پیش‌بینی پرخاشگری ایفا کنند.
