This study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of the Brief aggression questionnaire (BAQ). Webster and colleagues BAQ questionnaire is a 12-item self-report questionnaire that is used to measure four dimensions of aggression, i.e. physical aggression , verbal aggression, anger and hostility. in terms of the goals, current research is classified as fundamental. And in terms of its data-collecting method, it's a descriptive-correlational study. For this purpose, 340 students from the University of Tabriz were selected according to randomized cluster sampling. First of all, viewpoints of 12 experts were gathered to assess the questionnaire’s face and content validity. Lawshe method and Waltz & Bausell method were used to calculate Content validity index. The results confirmed Face and Content Validity. In addition, Exploratory factor analysis and Confirmatory factor analysis were used to test the validity of the questionnaire, exploratory factor analysis confirmed the accuracy of the four-factor structure of aggression in BAQ. also in confirmatory factor analysis, fit indexes indicated desirablity and fitness of the model and Cronbach's alpha and Composit reliability was calculated to estimate the reliability of the questionnaire and the questions of each subscale. Finally, the Pearson correlation test was executed to examine the correlation between subscales. The overall scale correlation with subscales was Statistically Significant. The reliability coefficients obtained from the total questionnaire and subscales were satisfactory, which shows that the questionnaire has an acceptable internal consistency coefficient. Finally, the results indicate that Webster's Brief aggression questionnaire has acceptable reliability and validity, as a result, this questionnaire can be used to measure aggression in Iranian society.
