The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of sexual satisfaction in the relationship between attachment styles with marital adjustment in married women. The present dtudy was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population was married women in Aran and Bidgol city in year 2023. The sample size was selected based on Kline model (2023) and with convenience sampling of 300 women. Data collection tools included the marital adjustment scale (DAS) of Spanier (1976), attachment styles questionnaire (ASQ) of Hazen and Shaver (1987) and sexual satisfaction questionnaire (SSQ) of Larson and et al (1998). Data were analyzed using Pearson coefficient and structural equation modeling by SPSS version 28 and AMOS software. The results showed that attachment styles have a significant direct effect on marital adjustment. Finally, sexual satisfaction has a significant direct effect on marital adjustment and was able significant mediating role in the relationship between attachment styles and marital adjustment. Also, proposed model had an acceptable fitness to the data (RMSEA=0/063 p<0/05) and analyses also revealed that %71 of variance of marital adjustment was explained. It can be concluded that according to the significant mediating role of sexual satisfaction, it is possible to reduce the occurrence of marital incompatibility in married women by using effective interventions such as Attachment-oriented family therapy.
